Let's see how funny it is to pee in Cookie Monster's mouth.

My adorable son, Dylan, apparently has a problem with toilets. Maybe they scare him or maybe he is just such a free spirit that he doesn't jive with the establishment, Man. The Man says do it in the potty, free spirited Dylan says, wherever you may be when the urge hits. Here are a few snippets from some posts on my family's website from a year ago.

"My friend just called to tell me that the Sheriff was talking to my kids at the park. So I went out. It was because Dylan had decided to pee at the park just as the cops had come around the corner. Really great. It's not like he hasn't done it before and we've talked to him before and we've punished him before. Also we live right there. It's not like we live around the corner, we live right there!! I'm hoping that having the officer talk to him will have some impact. The cop wasn't going to say anything to him he was just going to ask me to talk to him, but since that obviously hasn't worked I asked the officer to say something. Dylan got really mad and tried to kick the officer. Wonderful."

"I think it was Tuesday night that Kenneth came in from getting the mail to report that Dylan had dumped a load on our front lawn. Yes, that is right, after a run in with the police over urinating, the boy is now pooping on our lawn. I just prayed as I walked out to clean it up that no neighbors had been outside to witness. It looked like no one was around that I could see, thank goodness."

He also gets a kick out of peeing on his bedroom floor which is literally 2-5 steps from the nearest bathroom. I thought he hadn't done it in a while and so I was getting ready to replace the carpet since the room smells like a toilet with long standing urine in it. Then last Sunday Orion came down to tell me that Dylan had peed on the floor. I went upstairs and asked Dylan what he did. He told me that he had peed in Cookie Monster's mouth. He had his cousin over and thought it would be oh, so funny to show him how he could pee in Cookie Monster's mouth. Well, needless to say I freaked out a tiny little bit. I proceeded to clean it up, but while doing so I was telling him that he would have to wear diapers now because he was a baby. Babies pee on the floor and big boys go on the potty. So he must be a baby if he's peeing on the floor. He was so upset. I did apologize later, it wasn't nice of me to do. So far so good. He has been going in the toilet as far as I know. He's almost 5. I've never had problems this long with a child and toilet defiance. Oh well, I'm sure by the time he gets married he will be better. That's only 20 more years and for the last few he won't live here. I can see the end, literally because he drops his pants anywhere and everywhere.

Love it! This is so cute, and perfect boy, well maybe the pee, not the poop. Anyway, Jump on It is for adults too! So fun

Oh wow. I don't know whether to laugh (already did) or just pray that I don't get a potty-defiant child!

Jen, these blogs are so fun! It is so nice to keep in touch with all of you. I miss you girls!!! Thank you for donating to my walk for the cure (we're going to stand at the back of the crowd and stroll with my kids in their cougar carrier). Good luck with mr. defiant.

I laughed so hard at this post. Then I remembered I still have a little boy who I'm going to need to potty train one day. Then I cried.

ok, I think I laughed so hard that I cried at this. We too, have had and few peeing incidents at the park. I'm glad to know that its not just us. Now I'm just crossing my fingers that we can leave it at that:)
