On Oct. 23 I was able to go with Theron's class on their field trip. We went to see a play at the
Scera Theater in Orem. We saw
Miss Nelson Has a Field Day. I was not familiar with the Miss Nelson books so I was a little confused at first. I couldn't tell if the actors were playing "special" characters or if they were supposed to be little kids. The actors were in their 20's at least, so I couldn't tell by looking at them. Finally I heard the words, "elementary school" so I knew they were children. It was a cute play. It was a musical and they had put it together in 2 weeks, which is amazing. There were about 5 other schools there on field trips as well. The play involved the crowd which was fun. The kids were able to ask questions after the performance. They also gave us popcorn, candy and a juice box when we went in. It is still showing if you want something fun to do with the kiddies this week.

After the play we headed over to a park in southwest Orem called
Nielsen Grove Park. I grew up in Orem and I have never seen this place. It was gorgeous, really amazing. There's even a museum that tells the history of the Nielsen family and the community. It has wide open spaces, a playground, fountain, duck pond, many benches and picnic areas. We ate lunch there. It was a bit nippy, but as long as you were in the sun it was okay. Then the kids played and the moms sat and chatted. We ended up playing Red Rover. I was surprised by that. I thought it was one of those outlawed, someone might get hurt, playground games. We had a lot of fun playing and my team totally killed. Yes, it still hurts to play it, but it builds character. I love Theron's class. He has great kids in his year. It was a fun and oh, so tiring day.

Sounds fun! I can't wait till Reddek has school and field trips. You must be a great mom to go with his class!!!
Also I LOVE YOUR HAIR:) It looks so good on you...it makes me want to chop mine.
Sounds like a fun field trip! I just went on Hero's 2nd grade field trip to the zoo. I was exhausted by the end as well.
Looks like a lot of fun! Don't you miss being a kid sometimes? Ofcoarse...I probably act like a kid too much of the time! LOL...the problem is we run out of energy faster than the kids! ;)
