On October 30, 1958, my parents, Dale and Renae Pelo were married in the Idaho Falls Temple (not their wedding photo, but a cute photo of them around that time). This year we had the singular opportunity of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful night. I have an amazing sister, Wendy, who is great at taking charge and making things happen, with the help of the rest of the troops. She listened to what my mom wanted and tried to make everything perfect for her. We held a 50's party at the Provo Library on October 24th and invited relatives and their friends. My parents have lived in Missoula, MT, Spanish Fork, and Orem, Utah during their marriage. My dad taught seminary for about 20 years and was a bishop two times and a counselor in another bishopric. My mom was an executive in Brite Music and has been involved in many businesses and served a lot in the church. So they know quite a few people and they had a great turn out. We started the night with a family dinner at the library.

Most of us were dressed in 50's style clothing. There was a DJ spinning 50's music, lots of chicken dancing (which is what my nieces are doing in the above photo), A&W root beer floats (also in the photo) and a video montage that my sister-in-law, Mychael-Ann put together.

The video was projected up onto the wall for everyone to see. It was amazing and so great to watch. She put a ton of time and effort into it.

I spent quite a bit of the evening in the hall because Theron had eaten too much and was threatening to have his dinner and dessert make an encore appearance. Fortunately that didn't happen.

The banquet room was full of kids running around and playing and adults socializing. It was such a fun night and I'm so glad that we were able to do it for my parents. They are wonderful parents and I'm so happy that they chose to get married and have this amazing family that I have the privilege of being a part.

Happy Anniversary, you two young love birds. I love you.

I love the picture of your mom and dad. Isn't it amazing what comes from two peoples decision to get married...fifty years later a whole room of people! The picture of your family is really cute too!
Cute photos! Happy anniversary to two (undoubtedly) super cool people!
So sweet!!! You guys sure know how to throw a party!
So sad I missed it, but so happy my Mom was able to drive down for it. She was so thrilled. What an awesome example - 50 years of wedded bliss right? Congrats Aunt Renae and Uncle Dale!
