Rainy Days and Mondays

Who doesn't love a Carpenters reference? OK, maybe people who are too young to know who they are. I don't usually hold anything against rainy days or Mondays, but this one got me. Last week the kids were sick so I couldn't do my regular shopping. I had to reschedule it for today. Monday is usually my big laundry day, sheets & towels, making beds, Dylan's swimming lesson, taking kids to allergy shots, hitting the library, and FHE. On the best of Mondays I am dieing by 8pm. Tonight, after adding in 2 1/2 hours of grocery shopping, I am so wasted. I think I might have a mild version of whatever the kids had last week. I don't feel so sick I need to stay in bed, but I don't feel healthy either. My legs ache so bad. I am not a very nice mommy when I am not feeling strong. We had the very loud, very short version of FHE tonight, along with a half-time break to clean up the dog barf on the couch. My salvation comes in the form of ice cream and Monday night television. I love it, I live for it. So excuse me while I go recover in my bed with a bowl of Extreme Moose Tracks and the likes of Chuck, Heroes, Sarah Conner, Samantha Who, and My Own Worst Enemy. That is a very interesting sounding crowd I hang out with.

I love the Carpenters reference! That's one of my favorite songs of theirs. :)
So, your kids have been sick too? So sorry. Sounds like today was a crazy day for you. How do you even do that??

And, just one more thing, how do you have time to watch all those shows in one evening after FHE and getting kids to bed? That's amazing! :)
have a good night

Sorry the kids have been sick! We've managed to escape that so far this year, but you know now I've said something it's going to happen. Sounds like your Mondays are pretty crazy all on their own. How do you do it all?

I'm glad you finally got to rest and watch your shows. We watch a few of those ourselves.

To be honest I usually only get to watch a few of the Monday shows that night as I fall asleep while watching. We watched Chuck and then I fell asleep during Heroes. We watch the rest on Tuesday night.

Kristen, a DVR is my friend, mine is called MythTV, but it's the same thing as a TiVo. Record everything + watch with no commercials = much faster.

I'm so sorry you have sick kids! Your crazy evening sounds like Monday in the James home...the sun is shinning today, and I hope it makes the day so much better!

It totally is what the kids had because my legs are aching SO bad too. I was just telling Amber how much they are hurting. Probably a combination of the sickness and the arthritis. Hurts so bad that I have a hard time standing up from sitting. Sure hope you and I feel better soon!
