Cub Scout Day Camp

Let's start with freezing. It was so very cold. I think I have only felt that much pain from cold a few choice times in my life. My toes and fingers hurt so bad. All my joints were achy from the cold. They told us it would be warm by lunch which was at 10:45 and I didn't see how that would be possible, but they were right. The rest of the time we were looking for shade. It took quite awhile for me to thaw completely though.

Back to the beginning. We left the church a little after 6 am to drive to Camp Jeremiah Johnson up Hobble Creek Canyon. It was so noisy in my car. I noticed as we drove through Springville that the temp was in the 40's. I imagine that it was in the 30's at the camp.

We have a pretty good group of kids, but let's just say that when I am in pain my patience is pretty much non-existent. I had some not nice moments. I was also very tired. It wasn't my best behavior day.

The kids had a blast. I can't imagine how they couldn't. I think it is pretty much a little boys dreamland. There's archery, bb guns, maps, boats, crafts - like making swords and pictures of pirates. It was a pirate theme. There are teenagers that work the camp and they are great with the kids.

Needless to say I am so glad that it is over. I'm glad that the boys had fun and I wish I never have to go again or that I'm at least better prepared.
