My Squishies are gone.

My brother, Jared, and his family left last week to move to Virginia for his residency in Emergency Medicine. His two sons are near the same ages as my two youngest. They are all great friends and it breaks my heart that they are gone. When I had them over a few times the last few weeks I realized that with all 4 of them they were ages 6(Orion), 5(Noah), 4(Dylan), & 3(Ryan). Pretty cool, huh? Dylan is almost 5, but it sounds cool right now. I remember when my cousin moved away when I was 7. I missed her a lot and wished that I could see her more often. I think that it will be different with my kids as both families have blogs and email and cell phones. That is a blessing. I really hope that they will still be friends and not just cousins. He also has a daughter, Gwen(7). She is the most intelligent child, beautiful and amazing.

I am already missing my bro. and fam. like crazy. Next to us they were the coolest people in my family, (I don't think that anyone in my family reads this, so I'm pretty sure I'm safe saying that). I know they will do great things in Virginia and it will be wonderful for my sister-in-law, Mychael-Ann, and all of them, to be near her family again. I'm okay with this as long as they keep moving between Utah & Virginia every 4 years.

I love you all so much and am shedding a tear for you right now.

Here's beautiful Ryan with the chocolate face.

Beautiful cousins, Dylan and Noah. They are only 4 months apart in age and pretty close in size.

It totally hurts to be apart from family. I can totally attest to the fact that your kids will stay close to their cousins despite the distance. Carter and Cheyenne (age 8) are so close. They cry over missing eachother and talk to eachother on the phone for record lengths of time. They love seeing eachother on the webcams. We are so blessed that it's not like little house on the prairie times where once you moved away you never saw eachother again. All the great tech makes it easier than ever to stay close. And the kids will enjoy sending their flat stanley projects to eachother. Hang in there!

I moved away from my cousins when I was nine and they were my very best friends. Every time we saw each other over the years, it was like no time had passed. We're still really close. So it can be done! I guess now you'll just have to hang out more with your super-cool ward friends!
