Constitution Day with Abe Lincoln

Last week at school was Constitution Day. The kids can dress up as someone from the time period of the Revolution. My kids wanted to dress up. Theron wanted to be Abe Lincoln. Now, yes, we know that Abe Lincoln's fame was 70+ years later, but his teacher said it was okay. Theron started making a hat, but decided that it was too small and wanted my help. I told him that next year we would get him a real costume, so let's just wait. Orion took that little hat and made it his own and went full force with it. He would not hear no. So I made him a paper beard and he went to school as Abe Lincoln. Good for him, is all I can say. I'm proud of him for wanting to do it and for going for it even when his mom wasn't totally jazzed about it. He is one handsome paper bearded guy.
