Suffer for the Game!!

Saturday I was playing ward softball when I took a ball right in the kisser. Hey, I stopped the ball. I was so close to catching this amazing hit to center field, I missed the ball by milimeters and it hit my lips instead. I could feel them swelling instantly. I was praying for gushing blood so that it could be more dramatic, but none came. Dang it. I was a little stunned and just standing there with my mitt over my face. I decided to go home and ice them up, but since there was no blood I changed my mind and decided that I would stay and finish the game. It was the last inning. In reality I did all this to drag out the inning because I didn't want the game to go into another inning. Well, we won and that is the important thing. I had 3 RBI's and scored twice myself, including the winning run. I came home and had a few popsicles, and then iced my lips for awhile. They were swollen pretty good. By the evening they were mostly deflated. Sunday they were only slightly swollen. If someone didn't pay close attention I don't think they would think anything too tragic happened. That picture is not of my by the way. I forgot to take a picture when they were giant swollen. Sorry.

I'm glad the injury wasn't so bad. You are right, I didn't even notice on Sunday. It could have been so bad. I'm thinking teeth knocked out, brain injury if it would have hit you on the head etc. Glad you are okay and even stayed to finish the game! You're a champion!

I wish that church softball was standard in every ward. I miss it so much! 101 reason I miss Utah. Keep up the good work!
